Cake With Turkish Delight

cake-with-turkish-delightWhen I was making this yummy cake an idea came to my mind.  Why don’t I use Turkish delight in the cake? Then I decided to put some Turkish delight in my cake. So how was the  result? This is the result you see in this picture above. Marvelous!  I think you must try this recipe. When I decided to put Turkish delight in my cake a song was playing in my radio. Who was singing?  Madonna! Madonna was singing Candy Shop (”I’ve got Turkish delight baby and so much more…”) Turkish delight is  mentioned in the song “Candy Shop”, the first song of the album Hard Candy by Madonna. May be the song of Madonna inspired me so I did it. :) )

Ingredients:

  •     1 cup of milk
  •     1 cup of sugar
  •     3/4 cups of corn oil or sunflower oil
  •     3 cups of all purpose flour
  •     3 eggs    
  •     1 packet of baking powder
  •     1 packet of vanilla
  •     Turkish delight (optional quantity)

Recipe:

First of all mix egg and sugar with the help of mixer then add  milk, all purpose flour, vanilla and baking powder in it and mix it with mixer perfectly.

Put Turkish delights in it then mix. I prefer little Turkish delights but if you want you can put evry kind of Turkish delight.  Spread  oil the cake mold with a brush then pour the mixture in it. Bake it at 180ºC – 355 ºF for 25-30 minutes.

A few hours later you can serve it!

Mustard Plant Salad

       I told about Aegean Region where I live  in my previous posts. Nature is efficient here. The most beautiful green plants of the world  are grown up here. Today I made mustard plant with lemon juice and garlic.

 Ingredients:

  • 500gr fresh mustard plant
  • 1 lt water
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 or 4 cloves of garlic
  • A pinch of salt and black pepper

   Recipe:

    First of all clean mustard plant and wash them carefully and drain. Put water in a pot and boil it. Put washed mustard plant in it. Boil them for 5-10 minutes.

   After boiling, take  them from the pot and drain .  Cut them in equal lengths. After cutting take them on a service plate then pour lemon juice on it. Peel garlic cloves and cut them small pieces. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and black pepper and combine them perfectly.

  Enjoy it.

My Crepe

Our breakfasts indispensable food is crepe on weekends. You can put a piece of cheese or some strawberry jam in it. Well, if there is a little child at home believe me s/he won’t go anywhere  hungry and you can be sure s/he will want more.
Crepe is my biggest child’s favourite food. He is my husband of course:))
We make it with pleasure and eat it. 
 
Ingredients(for five middle size of crepe):

  • an egg
  • 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • butter

 
Recipe:
Put egg, flour and milk in a bowl. Whisk them perfectly. After that put the frying pan on fire and heat it. Put a little piece of butter on it then pour a ladle of crepe mixture on it then spread the mixture in it with help of a spoon. When the mixture get thicker with in 3 or 4 minutes, add a little butter on it then shake it by holding the handle of the pan. And use your all talent and turn the crepe in air by shaking or turn over the crepe with a spatula. Your crepe is ready to be eaten with cheese and jam.

Chestnut Dessert

Chestnut Sweet      Hi there,

I am far away from you for several weeks. I couldn’t share new recipes with you because we were busy with moving away. You know,my house is messy and You can’t find anyting you look for. Thankfully, now, everything is almost OK . I want to say  ”hello” to you immediately :) )

Here is  my newest recipe : Chestnut Dessert

In Turkey, Chestnut Dessert is famous in Bursa city. Big chesnuts are grown up there.

Ingredients:

  • 300 gr chestnut
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

 

Recipe:

Put water in a pot then bring it to boil. Peel the chestnuts’ outer rind then put them in boiling water. Boil the chestnuts until the inner rinds which is thinner  get soft then drain them. Peel its thin rinds after it gets cold.

Put 2 cups of water in  another pot with 2 cups of sugar then boil it. After boiling add the peelings in it. Cook it for 2 hours over low heat. After that wait the chestnut with sherbet for a day. After a day take the chestnuts from sherbet then put them in plates.

Serve it by sprinkling vanilla.
